Where to find ideas for tattoo

February 20, 2015

If getting a tattoo ever crossed your mind, you have most likely spent a certain amount of time browsing various tattoo design galleries and looking for some tattoo ideas that you might yourself implement. If you are serious in your decision to get a tattoo, bear in mind that a tattoo is going to be permanently embedded in your skin, so it better be something that has a deeper meaning to you and that you will be happy with. Unless you apply the tattoo on your back, it is something that you are going to look at every day, for the rest of your life. Also, a tattoo needs to represent something that you will be proud to show off to the world, otherwise, what would be the purpose of getting it in the first place.

Tradition of applying tattooed drawings has been present for thousands of years now. Originally, they were applied only by warriors, as their specific mark. The Maori tribe, located in New Zealand applied those marks on their neck, shoulders and face. The Japanese also have a long tradition of applying tattooed drawings on their body. According to their beliefs, those markings embedded in the skin also affect the very being of the person wearing it, so he becomes exactly what those drawings represent. In this case , a warrior.

Tattoos of today can convey the whole myriad of various meanings and all you need is to have some kind of an idea or a conception what kind of symbol would you want to wear and what would that symbol represent to you. Unless you’re getting a tattoo for fashion sake, it is also important that you choose a unique tattoo design, which you doesn’t see around on every second person. Something that is personal and has a deeper meaning only to you. Tattoos lose on their effect if many people wear the same symbol. Tribal tattoos are an exception, because although the themes are very much alike, the designs differ to a great extent and each can still produce an impact.

Let us remember the old Japanese belief – that we actually become our tattoo. You need to take your tame and carefully choose your tattoo design, that you will be at ease with and that will integrate well with your overall personality. In example, according to Japanese, if you have tattooed ‘Peace’ symbol on your skin, your whole being, body and soul, is going to be imbued with peace and it will easily become the aspect of your life everything else turns around. It probably sounds unrealistic, but if you ask someone who already has a tattoo you will hear that it is not so far away from the truth.

So, when looking for a good tattoo idea, look for something that complements your personality or adds to it. Never forget that it is a symbol you will be wearing for the rest of your life, so there is never enough reminding of the importance to think twice about every step on the ‘getting a tattoo’ road, so you wouldn’t leave to regret it later.
